Assemblage, according to Wikipedia, is "an artistic form or medium usually created on a defined substrate that consists of three-dimensional elements projecting out of or from the substrate. It is similar to collage, a two-dimensional medium. It typically uses found objects, but is not limited to these materials."
Believing that "Life is Art", Tracy Meier jump started her art career as an assemblage artist about 5 years ago. A well-established interior designer, Tracy started teaching adult craft classes in her teens and later attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles.
According to Tracy's bio, her "trinkets and treasurers" are bits and pieces left from interior design jobs, antiquing, flea markets, samples, and yard sales. Magically marrying pieces together through the exploration of assemblage, Tracy's enthusiasm and years of teaching creates an artistic journey for students that will learn to transpose things into something beautiful, creative, and thought provoking.
During this 3-hour artist workshop, students will create their own Femme Fatale Art Piece. As with all of Tracy's creations, the final creation will be of "female flavor". Registration fee includes all supplies and a light snack. Students are encouraged to bring their own "stash of embellishments" to add a personal touch. While not mandatory, the following types of items will make the final art creation personal.
Beads, Rhinestones, Buttons
Chain, Costume Jewelry
Fabric, Lace Scraps, Touille, Trims, Cord
Trinkets, Miniatures, Thimbles, etc.
No artist experience needed. Following our mission to provide art education, class is open to AAI members and non-members. Maximum size of class is 10 students. No refunds. For additional information about the class, you may reach Tracy Meier at email@example.com.
Registration deadline is 5pm, April 17th.
