REGISTRATION CLOSED.  CONTACT SHANNA ROBB AT 562-260-7451 WITH QUESTIONS.

The James Reserve, a private nature reserve run by the University of Riverside, is partnering with the Art Alliance of Idyllwild to create a youth art workshop that aims to marry science and art.  Co-sponsor of the event is local business, Jack Farley's Art Supply.

Event is open to 12-18 year olds who live in the Idyllwild area.  This includes Pine Cove, Mountain Center, and Garner Valley.

The all day experience will introduce students to six different science stations in the morning followed by pizza from Fratellos.  In the afternoon, the groups of six students will be paired with an AAI Artist where they will create a piece of artwork inspired by science.

Check-in will be between 8am-8:30am at the entrance of Lake Fulmor.  Students will put in groups of six by age and interest before being shuttled back to the private reserve. End of day festivities between 3pm-3:30pm will include each participating student getting a goodie bag from Jack Farley's Art Supply.

REGISTER BY JUNE  1st.

Attention Parents:   Your children will be with us all day, so maturity and ability to follow adult instruction is essential.  Only 36 students will be accepted for the workshop.  We are also seeking six adults to rotate through the science stations with groups.  If interested in volunteering only, please email Shanna at artinidyllwild@gmail.com.  If you have a child you would like to register, please click the register button.  If you have more than one student that falls into this age range, please complete separate registrations for each student.

Attention Artists:  We are seeking 6 artists to teach art to a groups of 6 students.  Artists will be asked to create an art project that is tied to nature or science.  They will also need to provide a budget for supplies, which will be paid for by the AAI.  Artist stipend for the 2-1/2 to 3 hour class is $125.  Artists interested in getting involved are asked to contact Shanna at shanna@myworlldinart.com.
