The James Reserve, a private nature reserve run by the University of Riverside, is partnering with the Art Alliance of Idyllwild to create a youth art workshop that aims to marry science and art. Co-sponsor of the event is local business, Jack Farley's Art Supply.
Event is open to 12-18 year olds who live in the Idyllwild area. This includes Pine Cove, Mountain Center, and Garner Valley.
The all day experience will introduce students to six different science stations in the morning followed by pizza from Fratellos. In the afternoon, the groups of six students will be paired with an AAI Artist where they will create a piece of artwork inspired by science.
Check-in will be between 8am-8:30am at the entrance of Lake Fulmor. Students will put in groups of six by age and interest before being shuttled back to the private reserve. End of day festivities between 3pm-3:30pm will include each participating student getting a goodie bag from Jack Farley's Art Supply.
REGISTER BY JUNE 1st.
