The male nude is a favourite motif in Michelangelo's work, whether in his drawings, paintings, or sculpture. It allowed him, in multiple variations, to glorify the beauty of the human body in movement. His drawings were exquisitely executed and striking in their expressive force.
Come join this artist workshop to use your own talents to glorify the beauty of the human body. Artists will be able to draw, sketch or paint a male nude model.
AAI Artist Jessica Schiffman will lead this classic life-drawing session. The workshop will start with 5-minute warm up poses, followed by a 10 and 15-minute pose and end with a 1 1/2 hour long pose. Suggested mediums are drawing board, paper, pencil or charcoal, and kneaded erasers. Excellent for all levels of skill.
Jessica studied painting at the San Francisco Art Institute. In addition to creating hundreds of paintings, she has illustrated 16 children's books. Her work can be seen at Middle Ridge Tasting Gallery in Idyllwild, the Bill Anson Gallery in Cathedral City and the Desert Art Center in Palm Springs. She teaches drawing and painting and has taught at the Idyllwild Arts Academy Summer Program.
