Eye of the Artist Judged Art Show - 20/20 Vision

THIS EVENT IS POSTPONED BUT WE HOPE THAT ARTISTS WILL USE THEIR TIME TO CREATE A MASTERPEICE TO ENTER INTO THIS SHOW ONCE IT IS RESCHEDULED.

Free to the public.  Only artists need to register. 

The Eye of the Artist event is AAI's second largest fundraiser.  Artists donate a piece of art to be raffled.   The money is used by the AAI to fund art education, exhibitions, grants and public art projects. Because this is a fundraising event, artists are welcome to enter one piece of artwork for judging in more than one art category.  

People who buy raffle tickets at the event may win up to 5 pieces of art.

This year and this event only, the AAI will be awarding cash prizes to ribbon winners in each category as follows:

First Place, Best of Show and Best Theme - $200

Second Place - $150

Third Place - $100

Artist Registration Information:

  • The optional theme for this year's Eye of the Artist is "20/20 Vision".  Have fun with this expansive theme.  A ribbon is awarded for "Best Theme" as well as a $200 cash prize.
  •  Click here Art Show Overview (updated February 2020).doc to see a description of each art category, For this fund-raising event, Artists are invited to enter a piece in more than one category.
  • Not sure what you plan to donate and enter for judging?  No worries!  You can still sign-up and determine the category, title, price later.  Complete your registration by contacting artinidyllwild@gmail.com at least a week in advance of the event.
  • All hanging pieces must be wired and ready for hanging.
  • There are no limitations on size or medium for this show.
  • Because this is a fundraiser, non-members may donate a piece for our cause.  However, only an AAI Member's artwork may compete for ribbons.  Click here to  Join or Renew Membership
  • In exchange for donating your artwork, any hanging fees for AAI's 2020 shows will be waived.
  • You will be asked to read and acknowledge a Limited Liability Waiver
  • Please send photos of your artwork to artinidyllwild@gmail.com and promote the event on social media.
Important Dates:      
  • May 26 - Deadline for registering
  • Drop off entries at the AAI Art Visitors Center at the Courtyard Gallery any week-end on Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 4pm, 54240 Ridgeview Drive, Idyllwild, 92549.
  • Drop off entries at the Town Hall from 10:30am to 11am on Friday, May 30th.
  • May 30th- help set up, hang artwork, and take down, serve at the bar, sell raffle tickets (register your option online)
  • May 30th - attend the event and join in the fun!
